If you really wanna know what this firmware upgrade was supposed to be for, there was a batch of Sprint LG Rumor phones that Sprint tried to keep quiet about. I would NOT suggest doing this "upgrade". This firmware upgrade will take away certain features, like the ability to get ringtones or images from anyone other than Sprint.

We've got about 5 complaints already about this "upgrade" actually taking away features and no longer being able to download your own content. Before upgrading, verify that you can downgrade if you have any problems. Also, never upgrade firmware unless you're having a problem anyway. You've been warned! HA HA!!!

Note: An Internet connection is required to perform a firmware update. From the Home Screen, choose Settings from the bottom-left. From the Settings menu, navigate to the Others tab in the bottom-left, then choose Software Update to open the update options screen.
