Network printer installation failed

Is there any way to use the network printer on this machine with a different driver other than installing with the driver software? You should get a tab that says Drivers. The Drivers listing in the tree will give you the version info and the print processor and other stuff, but not the type.

I had to download it from HP, but tried installing as a local printer with an IP port, using the universal driver. Waited for a bit, then failed out with the same cannot connect to printer error.

Now we're getting somewhere. This looks like an unsigned driver issue. The problem is that the installer package can be signed, but the actual dll might not be and there are hotfixes that are known to interfere with this, particularly because this is a server environment.
